The Bengali Language and Literature as a subject helps students in learning the rich heritage of Bengali language, in a structuralized form. Bengali literature is carrying its rich legacy in the vast field of poetry, rhyme, short stories, novel, drama, essays, history of literature and so on.

This course gives an opportunity to all the students on how to read a text and analyze it from different dimensions, using literary tools. Students also get to know how the socio-economic aspects of a particular period can be understood from a literary text.

Students get to know about the society and time which plays a vital role in the literary texts. This course would also help students to compare different regional or foreign language departments with Bengali literature.
