What Will You Learn?
Physics is an intriguing branch of science that nurtures the
primary knowledge for scientific advancement of research and
technology both. Physics also known as Fundamental Science is a
branch of science that talks about motion, space and time,
nature and the properties of matter and energy. It studies
mind-bending topics like heat, light, mechanics, electricity,
radiation, sound, magnetism, the structure of atoms and so on.
An individual who specializes in the field of physics is
referred to as a “Physicist”. I think you must know that
physicist does research work individually or in a team to make
theories or gather solid proofs of new discoveries. But it
doesn’t end there. BSc Hons. in Physics provides you with a
strong base in physics which you can apply in different fields
of study. Pursuing Physics (Hons.) after 12th demands
conceptualization knowledge and most important imaginations that
suits well to the words said by Sir Elbert Einstein,
“Imagination is more important than knowledge”.
Learning Outcome
To enter top educational and research institutes in India and
abroad, there is a well-refined entrance test procedure. Several
entrance tests are conducted at national level.
After B.Sc. degree, students are eligible for the MRNAT /
IIT-JAM exam conducted by various institutions. JEST exam is
another entrance examination conducted by Science and
Engineering Research Board (SERB) for admission in integrated M.
Tech, Ph.D. courses in the institutes that demand JEST scores.
Students having B.Sc. degree can enter M.Sc. programme based on
JEST score. TIFR enrolls students in its master course in
integrated course M.Sc./Ph.D. by conducting a national level
test.
If the student is willing to go abroad for higher studies then
he must clear the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) to get
admission in a graduate programme abroad. From the job
perspective, there are various jobs for a physics student that
he can opt after completing his study. He can be a lecturer, a
professor in university, a Physicist, a scientist in various
research centers in the country, a radiologist, a scientific
advisor, an entrepreneur, a researcher in a top organization
mentioned earlier
Career Opportunities
There are a number of job opportunities available for a B.Sc.
Physics graduate. Here are some of the top job profiles:
Physicist, Physics Lecturer, Lab Assistant, Technician,
Radiologist Assistant, Research Associate, Subject Matter
Expert, Academic Counselor, Content Developer, Quality Control
