Tours and Excursions

Department of Geography Organized an educational excursion from 19 th December 2023 to 24 th December 2023; Salboni, Paschim Midnapore, West Bengal. This field trips served one vital function as far as education is concerned. Field trips link the classroom experience with the outside world in so doing they not only improve learning, but also give the students valued practical experience.

The students of Zoology (Honours) recently visited Dakhin Rai Nature Camp, Sundarban. The tour consisted of 25 students accompanied by 2 faculties. The students have observed different wild animals during the Jungle Safari from the boat (Sudhonyokhali,Bonbibi bharani,Deul bharani,N banki, Dobanki ).The students have observed different types of butterflies and birds.

On 6th December, Department of Zoology in coordination with IIC & IQAC of Vedanta College Kolkata arranged a skill development training program on apiculture in RKVK, Nimpith The objective was to train the students in the field apiculture entrepreneurship, establishment of Bee hotels and to increase awareness about the process of overcoming the challenges at the time of apiculture

Vedanta College, Kolkata Department of Zoology, organized an educational excursion to Jaldapara National Park. They have done quadrat sampling, pitfall studies,line transect studies,bird watching, leopard behaviour studies, and collected insect specimens during the excursion. They have visited the Torsa river bank and the Khayerbari Leopard Rescue Centre. They went trekking in the Raimatang river bed. Overall, it was an enriching experience for them.

Department of Commerce organized a comprehensive industrial visit to ESL, Bokaro, on December 12-13, 2023. The trip provided students with hands-on insights into the manufacturing process, focusing on ductile iron pipes. Led by Kajal Singh, the dedicated ESL team ensured a safe and enriching experience, introducing students to CSR initiatives. An engaging interaction with Deputy CHRO, Mr. Khirod Kumar Barik, added valuable career perspectives. This visit is poised to significantly contribute to students' holistic development for future commerce careers.
